Artist Bio
Brian Branch is an artist from New York who discovered his passion for drawing and painting at a young age. Born and raised in Hollis Queens, he attended the Fiorello H. La Guardia High School of Music & Art in Harlem N.Y. He enrolled in music and majored as a violinist throughout his high school years. Later, to return back to his GOD given gift and first love of creating art. Branch began creating graffiti art on denim clothes during the birth of the hip-hop rap era in the 80’s. As an adult Branch relocated to Brooklyn and began to forge his career as a working artist.
His mother who was a great supporter of his talent worked for the education system for seventeen years in the SEEK Program at Queens College. Over a decade later after her passing and to honor his mother, Brian held a tribute exhibition at Queens College. The Lynn Smith lounge which was named after her as a dedication. With no formal art training Branch consistently trained his eye to become skilled in mastering the craft of oil painting, being inspired by the Old Masters as well as classic Disney animation.
Branch's recent works are contemporary interpretations of the african diaspora and figures heavily influenced by surrealism, afro futurism and asian sensibilities as well. Where the images viewed seem to engage in their own narratives.

Within 3 decades of a life lived in the forefront of visual expression, Branch's work has been sought after and collected by very well known celebrity figures. His work is currently in the estate of Dr.Maya Angelou, film actress and art enthusiast, “CCH Pounder". Singer Chaka Khan, actress /model“YaYa DeCosta”, Legendary Singers and Songwriters Ashford and Simpson.
He is also curator and artist in residence for the Cooperative Culture Collective. Who have presented the Central Brooklyn Juneteenth Arts Festival, since 2001.
Branch's work also has been widely recognized and exhibited throughout NYC Metropolitan area.
